We are striving to conserve Bison of the Pure Plains origin through consistently growing our herd and raising our animals humanely with organically minded practices. Our animals are raised in a small herd where they live in a low-stress, natural environment with very little human interference. We respect + value our Backwoods Bison by providing them with a life filled with dignity from birth to their “one bad day”. Our Bison are fed and finished on Alberta prairie grasses, are never subjected to growth hormones + are guaranteed antibiotic free at the time of slaughter. We are working hard to build consumer confidence in our animals and are proud to be regenerating the prairie while doing so.

Today individuals are consuming bison meats more than ever with increased focus on the health and wellness industry. Bison meat is a flavourful, tender and extremely lean red meat alternative. Bison meat has what most nutrition conscious individuals want with its high levels of bio-available iron, essential omega 3 fatty acids, rich sources of protein, low cholesterol and low fat content.

 Our Pastured Pork is raised outdoors year round, where they have the ability to move around, root and play in the mud with an abundance of fresh air and sunshine. Our Pork is birthed and finished on our farm with no use of hormones and is guaranteed to be free of antibiotics if they are in our meat program. We raise Large Blacks and Tamworths and have incredibly calm and docile breeding stock, that we have really come to enjoy. We are proud that our pigs are free of confinement and raised humanely from birth to harvest just as pigs should be. The difference in the flavour that lands on your plate when eating pastured is undeniable. 

We raise Pastured Broiler Chicken throughout the summer months, rotationally grazed by means of chicken tractors, our chickens are put on fresh grass daily and provided with the ability to graze, eat bugs and soak up the abundance of fresh air and sunshine offered to them. When raised outdoors you are provided with a beautiful, plump, juicy and healthy bird. We offer a variety of chicken cuts as well as whole birds and they sell fast! We are currently sold out of our pastured chicken but we invite you to join our email list to be notified when our first batch of 2021 birds hit our Ranch Boxes, Farmstore and Farmers markets. We have a beautiful flock of Barnyard mix laying hens. Our Birds free-range year round with access to their coop  all day. Because our birds are free-range they provide us with beautiful dark yolked eggs in a variety of colours including green, blue, pink, browns and white!  Our eggs sell out extremely fast and are always first come first serve.  Our chickens are truly part of our family, many hatched out on our farm and live long prosperous  lives  guarded by our team of Cane Corsos. Is there anything better than stepping outside in the morning and being greeted by all of your feathered friends? I think not! Add a carton or two of our Fresh Free-Range Eggs onto your Ranch Box or pick some up at the Farmstore on Sundays or at our Farmers Markets!
