It is said “no matter how long the winter, spring is sure to follow”, we are hoping the experts are right. In northern Alberta we have been receiving nothing but snow with a slight tinge of spring weather. We are all so ready to get our hands in the dirt, sunshine on our faces and view our baby animals frolicking around the yard.
Chad and I realized this week that there hasn’t been a year since we have resided at Backwoods where there hasn’t been a baby animal living in our home and this year is no exception. I often don’t share portions of our day-to-day life because to us, they are just normal days, but then we realize that to half of our readers having a cage full of baby turkeys in your kitchen isn’t a menial “normal” thing.
On this beautiful Easter weekend we are patiently waiting for our baby girl to arrive while soaking up some much-needed family time. Chad and I are relishing in each moment with our sweet Oakley girl and cherishing how much she has grown and changed in the year and a half we have been blessed with her. While we try to teach our children all about life, it really is our children that teach us what life is all about.
Happy Easter friends and family.
