Sometimes life isn’t exactly as you may have planned… and sometimes that’s perfect.
It leaves more room for adventure, surprises and new opportunities.
Oct. 18. 14
Marked one year.
One more year along our journey.
One WHOLE year living at the place we call home.
Happy ONE year anniversary Backwoods Buffalo Ranch.
We truly love everything you have given us, it has not been as planned but it has been amazing.
It has been hard and it has been easy, it’s been happy, sad, mad, excited, thankful, anxious & exuberant.
This year we have loved & we have learned.
I think the two most extensive things we have learned this year are appreciation and courage.
The harder things get, the harder we fight.
I’m not one to pretend everything is perfect because lately it seems things are a far cry from perfect and verging on struggle.
I had an entire week off of work due to sickness.
After many hours of sleep, pots of soup and t-3s, I returned to work today to find a very special reminder.
A reminder that people notice when struggle is present in one’s life and are there to brighten your day regardless of what may be happening.
This beautiful gesture brought sunshine to my day and tears to my eyes.
The hardest battles are always given to the strongest soldiers & we are beginning to see the light gleaming through.
On another note we have finally completed the corrals & our babies will be weaned very soon. I’m super excited to spend countless hours with these amazing little creatures. Each of our colts have such different mannerisms. I can’t wait to see who they turn out to be.
I need to take some more pictures of the final product, but it gives you an idea of what we have been working on.
(They look much better and much more complete now.)
I realized that we have a lack of fall decor at our house. It usually just goes from everyday ranch house to Christmas. So I created a little centrepiece for our coffee table.
From the Backwoods,
Make it a thankful Monday.
