Brandin’, Buffalo & Back Yardin’

This past weekend I had a couple extra days off and Chad hasn’t gone back to work yet. We made a pact to accomplish a few things in our yard. It all started last weekend when Chad and our best friend Curt built us  ME, a honkin’ flower bed at the end of our shop. My poor flowers were waiting almost a week to be situated in their new home. All we needed was dirt.  To our surprise we found a pile of black dirt in our pasture.
WOO HOO!!!! “Start the car!!!”

It all started like this…

A massive box filled with clay… Meet Bubba O’Maley and Cinch Magoo’s back-end.
Friday the hub’s hauled in the dark brown, rich, beautiful dirt 🙂

With a little elbow grease the front bed soon looked like this:

With one more additional trip to the greenhouse with my friend Sarah on Sunday…

I am so thrilled with the outcome…rustic, shabby, country goodness.

On another note we went to a neighbors branding on Saturday, it was ridiculously hot out but SO MUCH FUN 🙂

After we were done branding the 100+ calves the boys sorted and then they starting hauling them to greener pastures at the lease. I got to ride in a big truck for the first time 🙂

That little fur ball is our Chad’s Wheeler (wiener dog/blue heeler), he never wants Chad to leave him. It’s so funny. As you can see MY heelers are not following… now who has the better behaved pups…tee hee hee
